Welcome To The Art of Altering!!!

Hello Everyone! As 2015 has gotten off to a fast and furious beginning I wanted to bring everyone up-to-date on some changes that will be happening here at the Art of Altering. As you may or may not know The Art of Altering is basically a one woman show with me working a 9 to 5 job (the “necessary” job), creating and teaching (online and on site), running our Etsy shop and trying to keep things up-to-date and interesting for you all while also allowing myself some time to enjoy my sweet husband and our new grandbaby. To that end, Mr. Lesley and I have decided to make some changes that will see the group moving from the NING site and onto my dedicated website (vintage images and tutorials) and to my blog site (The Melange Group, future online classes and more). This will also allow us to continue to offer classes at affordable prices while giving us the ability to focus our energies where they are needed. The Melange Group will be receiving new links, passwords, etc. by the end of February as the transition begins. This page/site will still be for all things Melange and will require payment to join – again, those that are already members will be given the new user name and password by end of February. The tutorials will be available, you will still receive 15% off of future classes, 50% of rubber stamp orders, giveaways, special sales and other events. Melange will only see the actual site change. Vintage Images will still be available and will continue to be updated! J Be on the lookout for announcements! If you are currently enrolled in any of the classes on the NING site you will need to let me know by the end of February if you would like to have your class(es) sent to you on a DVD(s). The classes that are currently on the NING site will NOT be moving over and they will no longer be available for purchase or for online viewing. ALL COPYRIGHTS REMAIN IN TACT – DVDS CANNOT BE COPIED, SOLD, DUPLICATED AND, AS ALWAYS, MY CLASSES CANNOT BE TAUGHT WITHOUT EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM ME AND OR MY ASSIGNS. To let me know the classes you have purchased that you want on DVD please send an email to me at and let me know that you want DVDs and where they should be shipped. I will then verify the classes I have you enrolled in and those DVDs will be shipped out to you before 03/31/2015. The subject of the email should be AOA DVD REQUEST. If you are not enrolled in any of the classes listed below but there is a class you wish to take let me know and I can PayPal you the cost and send you the class(es) on DVD(s). This is absolutely your last chance to take these classes so if you aren’t signed up now is the time. Email me at and let me know which classes you wish to be invoiced for and I will set that up. Please DO NOT sign up via the NING group. 1. Fluid Chalks – Backgrounds & Beyond 2. Altered Vessel – Altered Bottles 3. Composition Journal 4. Crazy Quilt Canvas 5. Embellished Tags 6. Keeper of Secrets & Dreams 7. Mail Art 8. Resin Techniques 9. Steampunk Shrine 10. Thimble Necklaces IMPORTANT: The NING site will close at the end of February!! If you would like to be kept apprised of my future classes either online or on site or where we will be vending please sign up for my newsletter at: If you would like to be kept apprised of what’s happening in the Etsy Shop and when I will be holding sales please sign up for my newsletter at: We both feel very blessed, grateful and humbled that you have chosen to spend time with us here at The Art of Altering.
